6-8 tart apples (6 cups) peeled, cored, thinly sliced,
1/2 c. pure maple syrup,
1/2 c. sugar,
1/4 c. butter,
1 egg,
1 c. flour,
2 tsp. baking powder,
1/2 tsp. salt,
1/2 c. milk,
cream,

Directions:
Directions:
In a bowl toss apples with syrup till they are coated. Spread evenly in a12x9x2 baking dish. Cream together sugar and butter till light. Beat in egg. Thoroughly mix flour, baking powder, and salt: add butter mixture alternately with milk, beating each addition. Pour over apples. Bake at 350º for 30-35 min. Serve warm or cold. Serve with cream.
