1 lb ground beef
1 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green peppers
2 cups canned tomatoes broken up
1 can chick peas
1 can pork and beans
1 can kidney beans
1 can tomato sauce
1 tsp salt
1-2 tsp chili powder (or more to taste)
1 bay leaf
1 tsp instant coffee

Saute onions in oil. Add beef and brown. Drain chick peas and kidney beans. Place in slow cooker or in large pot on the stove. Add all other ingredients and let simmer on low heat for 4 hours. If you can simmer for longer the flavors will meld even more. The coffee adds something great to this chili.
