Salad:

1/4 cup sliced almonds
2 tsp sugar
1 cup chopped celery
2 green onions, thinly sliced
1 can (10 oz) mandarin orange segments, drained
1/2 head of lettuce (romaine or iceberg), torn into bite size pieces


Dressing:

1/4 cup vegetable or salad oil
2 Tbsp sugar
2 Tbsp white vinegar
1 Tbsp minced fresh parsley
1/2 tsp salt
dash of pepper
dash of red pepper seasoning (Tobasco sauce)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix almonds with sugar and toast over low heat in a small skillet until golden. Place lettuce, celery and onion in large salad bowl. Mix ingredients for dressing in covered jar and shake until well mixed. Add sweet and sour dressing to salad and toss until coated. Sprinkle with mandarin orange segments and almonds. Serve immediately.
