2 1/2 cups milk 1 cup sugar 2 eggs (separated) 3 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch (not too heaping) 1/2 tsp vanilla
combine 2 cups milk and 1 cup sugar. bring to a boil. cream eggs, cornstarch and 1/2 cup milk until smooth. add gradually to hot milk mixture and stir until thickened. cool and add 1/2 tsp vanilla. top with meringue.
