1 c. brown sugar,
1/2 c. shortening,
1 egg.
1 tsp. soda,
1 c. sweetened applesauce,
1/2 tsp. cloves,
1/2 tsp. salt,
1 tsp. cinnamon,
1 tsp. nutmeg,
1 c. walnuts,
1 c. raisins,
1 sm. jar candied fruit,
1 tsp. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and shortening, add egg. Mix soda with applesauce and add alternately with dry ingredients. Fold in candied fruit, raisins and walnuts. Line cake pan and bake in slow oven 325º until done--- about 1 hour and 15 min.
