2/3 cups white sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
2 Tbsp melted butter
2 Tbsp lemon juice
4 cups apples, peeled, cored and sliced



Cake:

1 pkg white cake mix
3 eggs
1 1/4 cups water
1/3 cup vegetable oil

Topping: Arrange apple slices in greased 9x13" pan. Combine sugar, flour and cinnamon. Sprinkle over apples. Combine melted butter and lemon juice. Drizzle over apples. Cake: In a large mixing bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, water and oil. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Pour batter evenly over fruit mixture. Bake 40-50 minutes at 350º or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Let stand 5 minutes, then turn upside down onto a large platter or cookie sheet. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
