125g butter
1 tsp. vanilla essence
2/3 c. castor sugar
1 egg, light;y beaten
1 1/3 c. self raising flour
1 tbsp custard powder
hundreds and thousands

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in a saucepan, cook until lightly browned. Remove from heat, cool. Stir in vanilla essence, sugar and egg, then stir in combined sifted flour and custard powder and mix to soft dough.
Roll teaspoonfuls of mixture into balls, toss lighlty in hundreds and thousands, then place 4cm apart on oven trays and flatten slighty with hands. Bake at 180º for 12 minutes or until light golden. Remove from oven, stand on trays for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool
