6 tablespoons shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 package dry yeast
1 package seeded raisins
1 tablespoon salt
2 cups hot water
4-5 cups flour (sift with 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg and1 teaspoon cinnamon)

Directions:
Directions:
Put yeast in 1/4 cup lukewarm water. Set aside.
Put shortening in bowl, add raisins, sugar and salt. Add yeast mixture and hot water. Add flour as much as needed. Grease clean bowl. Knead dough for 10 minutes. Place in greased bowl for 1-2 hours. Punch down firmly. Turn upside down. Cover for 45-60 minutes. Place in 2 bread pans. Bake at 350º for 1 hour.
