2 c. flour sifted
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. soft butter
1 egg yolk
1/2 c. sugar
2 tbs. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. finely chopped nuts
1 c. jam

Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Cream together by hand butter, egg and sugar. Add water and vanilla and blend. Add flour mixture. Form walnut size balls. Roll in nuts.

Bake 350' for five minutes - remove from oven and press center with thimble. Return to over and bake 8 - 10 minutes longer. Cool - then add jam.
