Sauce:
1 c. brown sugar
1 3/4 c. boiling water
1 T. butter

Dough:
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 T. butter
1/2 c. milk
1 c. flour
2 T. baking powder
1/2 c. chopped dates
1/2 c. nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Boil sauce ingredients for 3 minutes. Pour into 8 or 9" greased square pan.

Cream butter and sugar and add remaining dough ingredients. Drop by spoonfuls on top of sauce. Bake at 350º for 45 minutes.

Top with whipped cream or ice cream and serve warm or cold.
