2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 pinch salt
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
3 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
3 ripe bananas
1 tsp. vanilla
Nuts, chocolate chips optional

Directions:
Directions:
Beat sugar & shortening till fluffy. Beat in eggs and buttermilk. Add dry ingredients and mix just until blended with wooden spoon. Stir in bananas, nuts or chocolate chips. Bake at 325 for 1 hour. Makes 2 loaves.
