4 quarts popped popcorn
1 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. margarine or butter
1/4 c. light corn syrup
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Put popcorn into a large brown paper bag. Set aside. Combine brown sugar, margarine, corn syrup and salt in a 2 quart glass dish or casserole dish. Microwave on high for 3-4 minutes(stirring after each minute) until mixture boils. (I keep wooden spoon in it). Microwave 2 more minutes. Stir in baking soda. Pour syrup over popped corn and stir. Close bag and shake. Microwave on high for about 1 1/2 minutes. Shake well. Microwave 1 1/2 minutes more. Pour into a large roasting pan. Cool and stir to separate.

This recipe is from a childhood friend of Linda's and mine when we lived by on Pete's Mountain. She was really Linda's friend but I tagged along and she became mine also. She made a big bag of this for Corey and me while on Corey's East coast college road trip when we visited her in Connecticut in February of 1994.
