4 cups (900ml) granulated sugar
4 cups (900ml) water
2/3 cup (150ml) instant coffee
25oz (750ml) Rye whiskey
1 vanilla bean

Directions:
Directions:
Heat (medium) and stir sugar, water and coffee granules until mixture boils.
Boil 3 minutes without stirring. Pour into a 2-quart (2 litre) glass jar.
Add rye and vanilla bean. Cover and let stand for three weeks.
Remove vanilla bean.
