6 eggs
1/2 pound butter, softened
1 cup sugar
5 cups all-purpose flour
5 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon anise or vanilla extract

Frosting:
1/3 cup milk
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter
1 pound box of confectioner's sugar
1 teaspoon anise or vanilla extract
sprinkles

Cookies:
Preheat oven to 400º F.

In a large bowl, with an electric mixer, at medium speed, beat butter and sugar until lemon in color. Beat eggs separately, add to butter mixture and mix thoroughly. Add anise or vanilla extract and mix until combined. Add flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a bowl and combine. Add to egg, butter and sugar mixture and mix until mixture forms a ball.

Break off a piece of dough, the size of a walnut and roll between the palms of the hands into a ball. Put onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes and cool.

Frosting:
In a small saucepan over low heat, add milk and butter and melt together. Remove from heat, cool slightly, add anise or vanilla extract and stir. Add 1 box confectioner's sugar and mix until smooth.

Turn cookie upside down into frosting, place onto wax paper and sprinkle with sprinkles.
