Cream together: 2 cups Crisco, 1 ¾ cups brown sugar, 1-cup sugar, 4 eggs and 2 teaspoons vanilla. Add 4-½ cups flour, 2 teaspoons soda, 2 teaspoons salt and (2) 12 oz. Packages of chocolate chips (I like milk chocolate, but Mike likes semi-sweet). Nuts are optional. Bake at 350 degrees until browned but still soft.
I got this recipe from a friend that I use to work with years ago. It makes a ton of cookies!
