1 c. chopped figs
1 c. sugar
1 oz. strawberry jello

Directions:

Mix all ingredients. Bring to rolling boil. Let simmer for approx. 10 minutes.

The fig tree just outside the backdoor would be loaded with figs if the cold didn't get it. Mama & Daddy would pick figs so Mama could make her famous "Strawberry Fig". This was a family favorite especially during the years the figs didn't make. It would be a treat if there were still some left from the previous year in the dining room closet.
