"A man who was fond of wine was offered some grapes at dessert after dinner. "Much obliged," said he, pushing the plate aside; "I am not accustomed to take my wine in pills."--Jean Antheleme Brillat-Savarin, The Physiology of Taste

Ingredients:
Eggs,
Bread - sliced,
Soft butter

Directions:
Directions:
Cut a hole in the center of a slice of bread.
Butter one side, then place this side down in the hot pan. Crack one egg into the hole in the bread.
Butter the top side of the bread sparingly whilst still in the pan.
Turn the slice (including the egg) to cook the other side. Cooking the second side briefly will give you a runny egg, or for those who like hard yolks, you can pop the yolk with a knife once it is in the hole, and cook the second side a bit longer.
