3/4 c. butter or shortening
1 1/4 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1/3 c. milk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. quick oats
1 c. plain flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. raisins
1 c. nuts

Preheat oven to 375º. Sift together flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon; add oats. In another bowl, beat the butter until creamy (about 1 min.). Gradually add the sugar and beat at medium-high speed until well blended (about 2 min.). Beat in vanilla, then the egg and milk; beat well. Reduce mixer speed to low and add the dry ingredients; mix just until combined. Stir in raisins and nuts. Drop by spoon onto greased cookie sheets and bake for 10-12 min. or until golden brown.
