1 c. sugar
3 tbsp. corn starch
dash salt
1 c. milk
3 egg yolks
4 tbsp. butter or margarine
1 tsp. lemon zest
1/4 c. lemon juice
1 c. sour cream

Meringue:
3 egg whites
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
6 tbsp. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, corn starch, and salt. Slowly stir in milk and cook slow. Blend a small amount of hot mixture into slightly beaten egg yolks. Return the mixture to the remaining hot mixture cooking and stirring for 2 minutes. Add butter, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Cover mixture and cool. Once cool, fold in sour cream. Spoon mixture into pastry shell.

Beat egg whites with cream of tartar. Slowly add sugar once eggs are beaten. Continue beating until stiff peaks are formed. Place meringue on top of pie and bake at 350º for 10 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
