3/4 cup butter
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. almond extract
2 cup flour

Mix thoroughly. Roll about 1/4 inch think or thinner. Cut into strips 2 1/2 inches long and 3/4 inch wide (I cut mine diamond shaped with a crinkle edged cutter). Brush tops lightly with 1 egg white, slightly beaten. Sprinkle with mixture of 1 tbsp. sugar and 1/3 cup finely chopped blanched almonds. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until delicately brown in 350 oven.
