1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 T. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 T. vinegar
1/4 cup red wine
1/2 tsp. smoke flavor
1 medium onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves minced
1/4 cup Rudy's barbecue sauce (optional)
red pepper flakes
4 lb. beef brisket

Directions:
Directions:
Saute onions and bell pepper in olive oil, add garlic and red pepper flakes. Add the other ingredients and cook about 5 minutes. Season a well-trimmed beef brisket, (about 4 lbs) with salt and pepper. Pour just enough of the sauce to cover the bottom of the baking pan. Lay the brisket on top, then cover it with the remainder of the sauce. Cover tightly with foil and bake for about 4 hours at 300º, and 1 hour at 275º. Remove the foil and bake at 350º until sauce thickens.
