3 to 3 1/2 c. flour
1 pkg. dry yeast
1 1/4 c. milk
1/4 c. Crisco
1/4 c.sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 egg

Directions:
Directions:
Combine 1 1/3 c. of flour with the yeast. In a saucepan, heat milk, sugar, Crisco and salt until warm. Stir to melt shortening. Add dry ingredients. Add egg. Beat on low 30 seconds and 3 minutes on high. By hand , add the rest of the flour to make a soft dough. Set in a grease bowl. Rise for 1 hour: form into croissants (triangles and roll up). Rise for 1 1/2 hours. Bake at 400º for 10 to 12 minutes.
