1 pkg. dry yeast 1/4 c. warm water 2 1/2 c. sifted flour 1/2 tsp. soda 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. sugar 1/2 c. lard or shortening 1 c. butter milk
Use small bowl and dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm bowl with water. Cut in the lard. Then stir in the buttermilk and yeast mixture. Mix well. Roll out and cut into biscuits. Let rise 1 hour. Bake at 450º for 12 minutes.
