1 tbsp. oil
1 red onion chopped
1 clove garlic minced
1 lb ground round
1 tsp. salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1-14 ounce can tomatoes (I use fresh tomatoes)
[green pepper chopped if your family likes it]
1 1/2 tsp. chili powder
1/2 cup water
8 ounce medium shell macaroni
1/2 cup grated cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oil in large skillet - add onion and garlic and cook until tender, but not browned. Add beef and cook stirring now and then until meat loses its redness. Stir in salt, pepper, tomatoes, chili powder and water. Bring to a boil, mashing tomatoes slightly, add macaroni, stir and cover. Cook until macaroni is tender, about 20-25 minutes, stirring now and then. Sprinkle cheese over the mixture when served.
