Dressing:

1 tsp. salt
dash pepper
1 tsp. Tabasco sauce (a little less)
1/2 cup sugar (a little less)
1/2 cup tarragon vinegar (a little more)
1 cup salad oil (not olive) (a little less)

Shake well and refrigerate.

Salad:

Lettuce
Onion slices (purple?)
Green onions (diced)
Canned mandarin oranges
(drained, added just before tossing)*
Apple (thinly sliced/diced)
Parsley flakes
Slivered almonds (lightly browned in toaster oven)
(added before tossing)*

Toss salad. Add dressing--almonds, oranges.

You can use any canned/fresh fruit.
Dressing is also good with regular tomato salad--or hot! (wilted lettuce salad...)
