6 medium beets,
1 c. apples,
1/4 c. water
Directions:
Directions:
Cook, drain and peel beets. Mash with potato masher or put through ricer. Add apples and cook until apples are tender with 1/4 c. water. Season to taste with salt and pepper and butter. 1 cup applesauce may be substituted for the diced apples, and omit the water.
