1 cup dates - chopped
1 cup walnuts
3/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 cup hot water
3 Tbsp. Crisco
2 eggs 3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together dates, walnuts, salt, baking soda. Add hot water and Crisco. Let stand 20 minutes. In another bowl, mix eggs, sugar, vanilla and flour. After the 20 minutes blend together and bake in a greased loaf pan. Bake 45 minutes at 350º.
Create a spread of cream cheese with crushed pineapple to taste.
