1 cup sweetened condensed milk
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 Tbsp butter or margarine
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup margarine, softened
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/4 cup flour
1 cup quick oatmeal
pinch of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Melt sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, and butter in microwave and let cool. Combine remaining ingredients. Put 2/3 of oatmeal mixture in bottom of 9" x 13" cake pan. Pour on chocolate mixture. Crumble rest of oatmeal mixture on top. Sprinkle with 3/4 cup chopped walnuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.

On one of our many trips to ND, we visited George Kirschenheiter when he was a greeter at Wal-Mart. I bought a cookbook "Recipes To Warm the Heart," put together from recipes from Wal-Mart employees. It is the very best cookbook. These bars are one of my favorites. It is the only cookbook I have that has a whole section of "bars".
