6 cups flour
6 tsp. baking powder
1 1/3 cups sugar
1 well rounded cup Crisco (about 1 1/2 cups)
6 eggs
1 shot glassful vanilla
salt if desired

Mix dry ingredients as for pie crust. Add eggs & vanilla. Knead until smooth. Shape & bake. 375º.

I remember learning to make these with Nana. We would roll them out on the peninsula in the kitchen on Park Lane. I think these are everyone's favorite cookies. Christmas would not be the same without these cookies.
