1/2 c. shortening,
1 1/2 c. sugar,
2 eggs, beaten,
1 c. thick applesauce,
1 c. raisins,
1 c. walnuts,
1 pkg. fruit cake fruit mix,
2 c. flour,
1/4 tsp. salt,
1 tsp. baking powder,
1/2 tsp. soda,
1 tsp. cinnamon,
1/2 tsp. cloves,

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs and beat well. Add applesauce. Add sifted dry ingredients and beat smooth. Fold in raisins, walnuts, and fruit mix. Bake in wax paper-lined bread pans. 350 for 45-60 min.
