1 stick butter
1 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 c. flour, plain
1 tsp. baking powder
1 - 16 oz. can Hershey's chocolate syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped black walnuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each. Dump in baking powder and flour and beat. Add 1/2 can of syrup and beat. Add 1/2 can of syrup and beat. Add nuts and vanilla and beat. Grease 9 x 13 pan and flour. Bake 350º - 25 - 30 minutes or til done. Ice with chocolate icing or may be eaten without any icing. The cake will rise and as it cools may sink. Keep covered in fridge if it lasts long enough. May be frozen in squares, never gets hard.
