7 lb. Ripe Tomatoes
3 c. Green Pepper, chopped
3 c. Onion, chopped
1/3 c. Salt
1 qt. Vinegar
1 T. Ground Cinnamon
1 T. Whole Cloves
1 T. Celery Seed

Directions:
Directions:
Prepare vegetables and place all ingredients in a large sauce pot. Cook until thick, about 3 hours, stirring frequently. Add 3 c. sugar. Cook another 30 minutes. Ladle into hot, sterilized jars. Process in hot water bath.

The day I make chili sauce is my favorite day of the summer. While cooking, the chili sauce makes the house smell so good. I love this recipe, especially served with beef pot roast or used in barbecue sauce.
