8 cups Red Rome Apples (peeled, cored and sliced)
1/3 cup flour
1 cup brown sugar (light)
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
3/4 cup walnuts or pecans (optional)
1/2 cup butter (softened)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup minute oats
10" pie shell

Preheat oven 400
Mix the flour, 1 cup brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg together. Add the nuts (if you are using nuts). Pour mixture over apples, mix together and put in the pie shell. Blend butter, oats and 1/2 cup brown sugar until it gets crumbly then put on top of pie. Bake about 40-50 minutes (golden brown)...(if there is nut allergies or you don't like nuts that ingredient can be eliminated)
