Cake
1 1/2 cups boiling water
1 Cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup shortening or 1 cube oleo
1 cup oatmeal
2 eggs, unbeaten
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda

Topping
1 cube butter or oleo
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 canned milk
1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup coconut
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350

Cake
Pour boiling water over oatmeal, let stand 10 minutes. Mix in rest of ingredients, grease & flour a 9x13 pan.

Bake approximately 35 minutes.

Topping
Melt butter and add rest of the ingredients. Spread on cake as soon as you take it from the oven, put back under broiler until coconut browns, approximately 6 minutes.
