12" Dutch Oven
Prepare and cook in 50 minutes

2 cups all purpose flour
2 cups yellow corn meal
1/2 cup sugar
2 Tbsp + 2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
4 eggs
2 cups milk
1/2 cup cooking oil or shortening

Butter or honey for serving, if desired

Mix at home in 1 gallon zip top bag:
Flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt

Add eggs, milk, and oil or melted shortening

Mix until smooth

Pour into a warm and well-oiled dutch oven

Bake for 15 minutes (coals on top x 4 to coals on bottom x 1)

Remove from coals and continue baking from top only for an additional 10-15 minutes or until bread is golden brown
