Cookie Base:
2 cups finely crushed vanilla wafers (50 wafers)
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/3 cup butter, melted

Toffee Layer:
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 6 oz. package (1 cup) semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1/2 cup finely chopped nuts

Cookie Base: Preheat over to 350º. In bowl combine wafer crumbs and brown sugar. Stir in butter. Press into a 9x13 pan. Bake @ 350º for 8 minutes.

Toffee Layer:
In a saucepan, combine butter and brown sugar. Cook over moderate heat, stirring constantly until mixture comes to a boil. Boil 1 minute. Pour immediately over baked base. Bake @ 350º for 10 minutes.

Let stand for 2 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate morsels on top. Let stand 2-3 minutes more until morsels are shiny and soft. Spread evenly. Sprinkle with chopped nuts. Chill. Cut into bars.
