1 kg minced beef
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp corn flour
4 T olive oil
1 large onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
5 water-chestnut, chopped
6 red tomatoes, quatered
1 can button mushroom, sliced
1 can pineapple rings, sliced
1 stalk of celery, chopped
3 bottles traditional spaghetti sauce
4 Tbsp tomato paste
1/2 cup red wine (substitute Chinese rice wine)
1 tsp mixed Italian herbs
3 capsicum (red, green, yellow), chopped
450 g spaghetti or other pasta, cook according to directions on package

1. Marinade minced beef with salt, pepper, cornflour and sesame oil. Set aside for 15 minutes.
2. Heat olive oil in a frying pan. Fry chopped onions and garlic till soft, about 3 minutes.
3. Add minced beef and fry till colour changes.
4. Add chopped water-chestnut, button, capsicum,celery, mushrooms, pineapples and tomatoes. Fry to mix, about 5 minutes.
5. Add tomato paste, wine, spaghetti sauce and 1 L water. Stir to mix.
6. Bring the contents to a boil. Lower heat and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally to prevent sauce sticking to the pan.
7. Serve on cooked spaghetti.
