Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 pkg. dry yeast
3/4 c. warm water
1 c. milk
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup shortening
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs, beaten
about 4 cups flour (white, wheat, or combination)

Directions:
Directions:
Scald milk and cool to lukewarm, or combine dry or condensed milk with warm water to make one cup. Soften yeast in warm water. Add sugar, shortening, salt, softened yeast, and eggs. Add part of the flour and combine in mixer (or by hand) to make a smooth batter. Add remainder of flour to make a soft dough. Let rest a few minutes, then knead thoroughly until surface is very smooth. Place in greased bowl, cover, and let rise until a little more than doubled in bulk.

Punch down, divide in portions for different kinds of rolls. Keep unused portions covered until needed. Shape rolls on floured (or Pam-sprayed) counter or table. Place on greased cookie sheet, cake pan or muffin tins. If icings or other toppings are to be added, brush tops of rolls with milk or egg-white glaze. Otherwise, brush with melted fat (butter). Cover lightly with a clean dish towel and set in warm place until doubled in bulk. Bake at 375º 20-25 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from oven; cool on rack

Personal Notes:
Mom used this dough to make yummy cinnamon rolls. Use half the dough at a time. Roll into a rectangle. Spread with butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Roll up and slice. Frost or glaze after baking.
