Bread Pudding Recipe

2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups scalded milk with
1/4 cup butter added (Let cool to lukewarm)
1/2 cup raisins
3 cups bread, dry-cubed

Directions:

Lightly butter a 1 1/2 quart baking dish. Combine eggs, sugar, salt, spices and vanilla. Add milk and butter mixture plus raisins. Add bread and stir just enough to mix. Let set about 5 minute, then pour into baking dish. Bake at 350º for 1hour. Serve with Hot Rum Sauce or Half & Half.

This was one of Dad's favorite recipes.

For a richer flavor or bead pudding, use whole milk or 1 cup each of whole millk and Half & Half.
