3/4 c shortening
1 c sugar
1/4 c molasses
1 egg
2 c flour
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 375

Add sugar, shortening, molasses and egg. to bowl; beat until creamy. Combine dry ingredients and add to creamed ingredients, mixing until well combined.
Chill 2 hours, form into 1 in. balls and role in sugar. Place on greased cookie sheet and bake.
