12 T butter
1/2 C chopped green onions
3/4 C flour
8 C chicken broth
1 C port wine
1 C cubed cooked chicken or turkey
8 oz (dry) wild rice, cooked
1/2 C finely grated carrots
1/2 C chopped pecans
3/4 C dried sweetened cranberries
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 C half and half

Directions:
Directions:
In large saucepan, melt butter and saute onions.
Blend in flour, gradually add broth and port.
Cook, stirring constantly until mixture comes to a boil.
Boil 5 minutes.
Stir in chicken, wild rice, carrots, pecans, cranberries and pepper.
Simmer 5 minutes.
Blend in half and half, heat to serving temperature.
