4 1/2 cups flour
1 cup shortening
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup warmmilk
3 egg yolks
1 yeast cake
8 tbsps. sugar

Filling

3 egg whites (beat until stiff)
6 tbsps. sugar
6 tbsps. brown sugar
2 cups chopped walnuts

Mix together to make a paste & spread on dough.

Sift flour with salt. Add shortening and cut in like for pies. Beat egg yolks. Dilute yeast in a little warm milk. Add sugar to warm milk, dilute & add beaten egg yolks & diluted yeast. Add to flour mixture working dough until it doesn't stick to spoon. Let stand overnight in refrigerator.

Next morning put on floured board & cut into 2 parts. Roll out about 1/4" thick & spread filling. Roll up like a jelly roll & place in greased loaf pans. Cover & let stand in warm place until pans are full (1 hour or more). Bake in moderate oven 325 for 3/4 hour or until baked.
