Cream Wafers
1 cup butter
1/3 cup whipping cream
2 cups flour
Filling
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup confectioners sugar
1/2+ tsp vanilla to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Creme Wafer
Cream together butter, whipping cream and flour. Chill 2 hours. Roll out and cut with round cookie cutter. Dredge cutouts in sugar, place on cookie sheept and prick with a fork 2 to 3 places, (like a cracker). Bake 375 degrees for 7 to 9 minutes. Cool.
Filling: Cream together, butter, confectioners sugar and vanilla. Can add food coloring if desired. Once cookies are cool, spread filling on top of one cookie and top with second cookie to make a sandwich.

Do not overwork the dough or the cookies will be tough.
I got this recipe from a dear friend and it was always Meredyth's favorite cookie at Christmas.
