2 oz. unsweetened chocolate
1/2 c. butter
1 c. granulated (or packed brown) sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. finely chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Melt chocolate with butter and sugar in a 2 qt. sauce pan. Remove from heat; stir in remaining ingredients. Spread in greased pan. Bake at 350º for 20 - 25 minutes. Cool and frost or sprinkle with nuts.

Variations:

Rocky Road - sprinkle hot brownies immediately with 1 c. miniature marshmallows; drizzle with fudge sauce.

Cherry - add 1/2 c. maraschino cherries to batter.

Peanut Butter - add 1/4 c. peanut butter to batter. Add 2 tbsp. peanut butter to frosting.
