I was born at the Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Tx. to Mary Maurine May Pember & Bruce Merchant Pember. The family moved to Slaton, Tx. when I was almost 6 yrs old. I graduated from Slaton High School in 1955. I was in the band and was a twirler my senior year. I attended Texas Tech for 1 1/2 yrs where I met Jay Adams. We were married in the Slaton Methodist Church 12/28/1956. We spent the next 20 years moving with the Navy to Florida, Tennessee, Newfoundland, Puerto Rico, Washington State, Guam and finally to San Diego, CA. Jay and I divorced June 1991 and he passed away September 1996. I currently live in Santee, CA which is a suberb of San Diego.
