1 1/2 c sugar,
1/2 c butter,
2 eggs,
2 c cooled/unsweetened applesauce,
1 T cocoa,
1 t cinnamon,
1 t baking soda,
1 t vanilla,
2 c flour.

Directions:
Directions:
Beat together sugar, butter, and eggs. Add applesauce, cocoa, cinnamon, baking soda, and vanilla. Mix well then add flour.

Poor mixture into greased and floured 9x13 pan. If desired; Sprinkle 1/4 c sugar, 2/3 of a 12oz bag of chocolate chips and/or chopped nuts over the batter. Be sure to get it to the edges or the center will sink and the sides will rise.

Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes.

This cake is very moist. Wait until it cools to cut and enjoy, or it will mash as you cut it.
