2 cups sifted self-rising flour
~ 1 cup butter Crisco
1/2 cup buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour in large bowl. Cut Crisco into flour with spoon. Add buttermilk and mix just enough to shape into ball. Roll out onto floured surface and cut into shapes.

Bake 400º until brown.

Don't expect them to taste as good as Alma's. Only she could make them. Maybe having her bring them to NaNa's table straight from the oven was the secret ingredient.
