2 cups molasses 1 cup sugar 1 Tbsp vinegar 1 Tbsp butter 1/2 cup walnut kernels, coarsely broken
Put all ingredients except nuts into a large skillet. Boil slowly until a little of the mixture dripping into cold water makes a hard thread. Butter your pan (cookie sheet with sides), and cover 1/3 with a layer of chopped nuts. Fill 1/3 full of candy mixture over the nuts. Cool in refrigerator. When cold crack into pieces. Makes 1 1/2 pounds.
