4 cups sliced pared tart apples
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup oatmeal
3/4 tsp cinnamon
3/4 tsp nutmeg
1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Grease an 8x8 square pan. Place apple slices in pan. Mix remaining ingredients. Sprinkle over apples.
Bake 30 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is golden brown. Serve warm and if desired with cool whip, whipped cream or ice cream.
