3/4 c. butter or margarine 1 1/2 c. sugar 1 1/2 c. mashed ripe bananas 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1/2 c. buttermilk 1/2 c. chopped nuts (opt)
Cream butter and sugar together. Add bananas, eggs, and vanilla blend thoroughly. Sift dry ingredients into separate bowl. Add dry ingredients to butter mixture alternately with buttermilk. Fold in nuts. Pour into greased 9x5x3 loaf pan. Bake at 350° for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
